I recently posted a funny story on Facebook about our Au Pair, Jayde. Well, not so funny for me but funny nonetheless (the plumber mistook me for the Jayde's mother! Horrifying).
(Aside: I am a MUCH better Facebooker than I am a blogger. Facebook and Twitter are bad for blogging - instant gratification. I hardly ever blog any more, as you may have noticed, but I regularly update things on FB)
Anyway, after my FB update about the Au Pair story, a few people asked me whatever happened to Rose now that we have Jayde. (Jayde has been with us for almost a year now. She is studying part time to be a teacher and helps us out in the afternoon.). So I thought I would fill you all in.
Rose is very much still around. Rose lives with us, she is the children's other mother. I hope she will always be around! Jayde helps out with the 'admin' for the twins (school lifts / extra murals / homework) in the afternoon but Rose still looks after Max. Max and Rose are *this* close. They adore each other. Also, I couldn't do that to Jayde - unleash the terror that is Max on her.
I would never be able to do the work I do if it wasn't for Rose and Jayde's help. There is no way I could work a full day AND take and fetch the kids. Physically impossible to be in two places at once.
I am grateful every day for people like Rose and Jayde who form part of the village that helps me raise my children. We are truly lucky.
I don't mind that you blog sporadically, because when you do: the posts are very very good!

So lucky for you to have the help. I remember those days - working single mom. Wasn't easy, but somehow got it all done. Always wished I could afford to hire some help!

Lovely to hear an update from Rose. So wonderful that she has been with your family all that time and will in the forseeable future.

We love Rose. And if you blogged more, I bet we would love Jayde just as much. (Hint hint!!)
