Hello campers, I've been extremely tardy with my updates. In my defence...well, I have no defence, sorry. The usual stuff. Busy etc.
So school started last week, praisethelord. It has been a long holiday. Actually, it wasn't so bad. Every December holiday I DREAD the long holiday but it always goes by so quickly.
I was very anxious about the start of school this year. It is the first year that the twins are apart from each other. Plus I was really worried about what teacher they would get, whether the teacher would be a good fit for them etc etc, but I needn't have worried. My kids go to an awesome school and they are so good at taking care of the kids in a holistic manner. It really feels like you have a team of people on your side, especially if you have a child who needs a bit of extra attention.
Adam has the perfect teacher for him and Kate has the perfect teacher for her. They love their school and they love their teachers. AND!!! I volunteered to be Class Rep for Adam's class! Marko is horrified. He can't believe the level of my nerdiness. But I had to be Class Rep, my BFF Candice is class rep for Kate's class (Candice's daughter and Kate are BFF), couldn't let Candice claim all the nerdy/suction glory for herself. So for my sins, I am class rep. Because as you know, having three smalls kids plus running your own business means you have oodles of spare time. Oh well, who cares - will relax / take it easy one day when I am old(er).
I have also volunteered to help out at the tuck shop two mornings a term. Which isn't much at all. You know, when they gave my shifts for tuck shop duty, I wanted to cry. With happiness. I still have moments when I have to pinch myself to believe that all this is real. I am helping out at tuck shop!! Because (a) I am a mother and (b) I am fortunate enough to work from home so I can do it. I am so, so, so lucky. Damn, I am lucky. Anyway, moving on....
Besides that, all is well. Parents are well, if somewhat (VERY!!) irresponsible. More about that later but just to say - why did no one warn me that my parents would get me back one day for all my hair raising teenage antics I got up to? My parents give me grey hairs and keep me up at night. The things they get up to...
Husband is fine. He is hardly annoying lately. Still quite fond of him. He can stay.
Work is fine, busy! Still loving it and having lots and lots of babies born. In fact, our first babies (twin girls) have their second birthday next month. I need to count how many babies we have had born since we started almost three years ago. Lots. I have the best job in the world.
Ok, I need to go sleep now. Max was EXTREMELY asshole'ish last night. I only got to bed at 11:00pm and the little bugger woke up at 11:05 and wanted to play for almost two hours. Very childish. Mother needs her sleep darling child.
I downloaded a few photos from my phone recently and I thought they made a pretty good summary of our last few days. Hope you are all well!
PS do you know I will be 43 this year? Farking hell, that is old.
Max in the Jungle Gym, eating his ice-cream. I am hoping that Max will make more use of the expensive!! jungle gym we had custom made for the kids. Because the twins certainly don't.
Oh, that is the other thing we did this holiday, we got a new dog! Meet Fluffy, the rescue dog. Fluffy isn't fluffy at all, but Kate wanted to call her that. We aren't quite sure what breed Fluffy is, but we suspect there might be a bit of rottweiler in there, a bit of Alsatian, a bit of staffie, in fact there could be a bit of everything and anything. She is very sweet and insists on sleeping on Shelly's tail. It is going to get interesting as she gets bigger because she really does sleep on Shelly's tail all the time.
Kate absolutely loves the dog. Plus her chickens. She is always outside with the dogs and the chickens.
Oh, and then someone tweeted about their OCD/anal tendencies to NRO (never run out) of anything. I said to the person 'you aint seen nothing yet'. I am the QUEEN of NRO. Exhibit A - my T paper cupboard:
If you ever run out of toilet paper, you know where to come.
Night all, sweet dreams x
