One of my lovely blog readers (and a friend of mine), Adi, found an old To Do list of mine, from two years ago, when I did an FET (frozen embryo transfer IVF). Which obviously didn't work. "Things I am going to do when this 'trying for a baby' shite is over". Was it really only two years ago? I can't believe it. How my life has changed since then!
I though I would see how I am doing on that To Do list, two years down the line:
- File my tax return. Or at least, get all my receipts to my tax
consultant. WAY over due. Way. Am queen procrastinator.
Hate that about myself. Done
- Tidy my study. I am tired of receiving final demands for bills lost in the pile. Done
- LOSE SOME WEIGHT!!! Yuck. Done, but need to redo
- See a shrink about going back on the happy
pills. Can’t live like this. Done!!! Very successfully - thank you Cipramil!
- Fix up my hair. The dark hair is not
working. Done, but redid - hair now dark again, see pic below
- Immediately stop spending as if there is no tomorrow. Not done Sort out overdraft. Done Make a budget etc.Not done
- Tidy my cupboards. Give away the stuff I will never wear again Done!
- Pack away all the baby stuff for good. Sob. Done, and gave away all the baby stuff. Because you know, I was done. Not suspecting I would have a baby ever again.
- Drink wine. As if I have ever stopped. Done - ongoing
- Try to stop drinking so much. Haha! Silly me.
- Make an effort to look after myself some more. Start liking myself again. Hmm, 'ish
- Order those multivitamins. Done
- Focus hard on my job and catch up with all the things I have been putting off Done
- Tidy the play room. Give away the toys they
never play with. Done! Donated bags and bags and bags of the stuff
- Find a decent / appropriate play school for the kids. Done
- Book the kids into a good primary school Done
- Be kinder to my husband. This will require
some effort as he is acting like a total fucking DICKHEAD at the moment. Asshole. Will have to copy and paste for this year's To Do list
- Go for that massage I have been promising myself. I know it costs money, but I need it. Done
- Try and be happy again and live in the moment. Done'ish
Not too bad actually, I've done fairly well I would say.
Things I didn't have on the To Do list, but did anyway:
- Have a baby
- Buy a new house
- Start a successful business
All in all, a pretty good two years ;-)
Me with dark hair - a sneak peek as these are part of a set professional pics done for a magazine, due out in September, so shouldn't be posted them yet, (and not the best pic of the set) but it is just a glimpse at the dark hair. I like the dark hair, I know blonde probably looks better, but I couldn't be arsed about doing the roots every 4 weeks. So I am staying dark for now:
Beautiful hair! Love it!

Sweet pic of you and your dd. I don't know about you, but there are very few pics of me with my children and I'm the one always with them. She'll be happy to have that mommy and me pic someday.

Oh my god, Tertia. The hair is insanely gorgeous. Is that real? Its not a wig? You should never be blonde again :)

Posted by: QoB | 21 July 2009 at 10:35 PM
Def. keep the dark hair. You look fabulous and younger, too!
Posted by: karyn | 22 July 2009 at 12:22 AM
You must keep the dark hair you look even more gorgeous and divine then before! Kate is looking so grown up with her long hair!
Posted by: JenniferK | 22 July 2009 at 12:48 AM
You are stunning as a brunette! If that isn't the best picture of the group, the others must be amazing.
Posted by: Kristin | 22 July 2009 at 01:31 AM
Love your hair dark and know what you mean, I have stopped getting blond foils. Much easier to color it myself for $10 a pop!
Posted by: Amy | 22 July 2009 at 03:53 AM
You did good. And that colour suits you.
Posted by: Julia | 22 July 2009 at 08:21 AM
Seriously, you should never do blonde again. Ever! The brunette brings out your eyes so much.
Kate-ee (does she still call herself that) is just g&d, just like her mother.
Well done on the list. I seriously need to write one up for myself, but I don't even know where to start.
Posted by: BiancaW | 22 July 2009 at 08:54 AM
Love the hair! WAY better than the wig.
Posted by: Sue | 22 July 2009 at 09:06 AM
You do look amazing with the darker hair, much younger and even rested. And Kate looks so grown up! What happened to your little girl? She could be a model, she is so G&D, as are you! I would keep the dark hair for sure.
That color does suit you, I thought that your sister was wise to go back to her natural color from blond and I think you are as well, you just have the skin tones for darker hair, you can just carry it off, not every woman can.
Posted by: Melissia | 22 July 2009 at 11:13 AM
a great to-do list! my god tertia, you've done so much in two years!!! wow... what a go-getter!
