I thought about saying I wasn't but I was afraid you'd beat me up

Am feeling less than gorgeous and divine at the moment - so much for pregnancy "bloom", my stomach feels like I've suspended it over a steel girder and hung a couple hundredweight of bricks from it, my head feels like I have an elephant sitting on it and my skin is popping with zits. NOT gorgeous at all. Though I guess I shouldn't be whinging, huh?!

I was late in seeing the post with the survey, and when I saw there was almost 400 replies, I thought... why bother? But, I believe you when you say every one matters to you. :)

*through Julie, whom I found through AB(hashai.com).

Stupid me cut and pasted the questions from Cory's post, and filled in my own answers. Forgot to take out the 'posted by:Cory' line.

Definitely not gorgeous and divine. Nooo way.

1. What do we have in common? Infertility? Motherhood? Being gorgeous and divine? All of the above?
Motherhood, I have a son who is near your babies age (he's 9 weeks old now), and I have taken much joy in reading your blog. I am currently on maternity leave and have found blogs like this to be a saviour to the lack of intellectual interaction that comes from being with a 9 week old, a 165lb dog and 2 cats all day long!
2. How did you find me?
Can't remember, but you're now on my favorites list under the topic "mommy"
3. Do you comment? If yes, thanks! If no, how come you don’t?
I haven't, but that's ususally because, like you I am a touch typist and usually only have one hand. I promise to try more in the future
4. What aspects of my blog (if any) do you enjoy?
The mommy bits, and I loved the Paul v Marko bits (I have a Marko, who is slowly becoming a Paul)
5. What do you wish our conversations were more about?
I'd love to hear more about living in Africa.
6. What do you wish I would shut up about?
Nothing.
7. I am fascinated by all the different places we are from. Where are you from?
I am from northwestern NJ (the nice part of the state), but have lived in 10 different US states, and in Scotland.
8. Lastly, any tips, suggestions, adorations or pieces of assvice?
I have no assvice- but I really enjoy reading you, and look forward to stories of the little ones growing up!!

Well, Miss T...since I've officially de-lurked, thought I should give you my blog address. I will warn you, tho. It's not a good read. I am a technical writer = anal! Somehow, my asshole personality doesn't quite show up in my blog. Learning from the master! LOL

I hope you don't mind one more latecomer.
1. What do we have in common? Infertility? Motherhood? Being gorgeous and divine? All of the above?
Hoping to join you in motherhood soon; had a bout with infertility and miscarriage; and gorgeous and divine of course.
2. How did you find me?
Definitely through a link on another blog, but I can't remember which one - you're linked from many.
3. Do you comment? If yes, thanks! If no, how come you don’t?
Only once. I don't normally because I didn't think you could find the time to read them all!
4. What aspects of my blog (if any) do you enjoy?
I love your topics, your honestly, your sense of humour.
5. What do you wish our conversations were more about?
No suggestions - everything is good as is.
6. What do you wish I would shut up about?
It's your blog - if you want to talk about it, you should talk about it.
7. I am fascinated by all the different places we are from. Where are you from?
Originally from South Africa actually, but grew up in and live in Ontario, Canada.
8. Lastly, any tips, suggestions, adorations or pieces of assvice?
Please keep on blogging, I look forward to your posts. I don't feel qualified to give any assvice.....yet :)

Tertia-
I do adore you and hate to disagree with you, but I am wearing no makeup, a holey sweatshirt, and a two year old just spewed chunks of mandarin orange, rice, and Gatorade all over me.
NOT gorgeous.

1. What do we have in common? Infertility? Motherhood? Being gorgeous and divine?
I am not a mother or infertile I relate to infertility however because I desperatly want a baby but can't have one because of some financial and emotional instabilty in my life right now (for the past 3 years actually). So while I have no idea if I am fertile or infertile I cry when I get my period (because it is a reminder of all the issues in my life that are keeping me from being able to try for children), I cry when my friends get pregnant (because I am insanely jealous of their perfect and wonderful lives, houses, jobs, children) etc, etc. So I consider myself a possibly fertile, infertile soul sister. None of the drugs, all of the sadness and bitterness. Also I am always divine, and occasionally gorgeous.
2. How did you find me? Chez miscarriage - I found her on a random link from a feminist blog I think.
3. Do you comment? not often. becuase of reasons above I generally feel like an outsider on infertility sights (becuase I am technically an outsider). If I feel I have something valuable to add based on my experience or that of a friend I do.
4. What aspects of my blog (if any) do you enjoy? your honesty, your thick skin when it comes to criticism (I'm trying to grow one of those) and all the foul language. I love me some snark too.
5. What do you wish our conversations were more about? I would love to hear more about SA. I have been to Tanzania and Kenya. I love Africa and SA is on my list of places to go before I die.
6. What do you wish I would shut up about? um... nothing so far.
7. I am fascinated by all the different places we are from. Where are you from? from NYC. Living in Los Angeles for the past year. I hated LA until I moved here. Now I love it and would stay forever it it wasn't so damn expensive. Winter in Southern California is glorious.
8. Lastly, any tips, suggestions, adorations or pieces of assvice?
suggestions - make sure Marco is giving you lots and lots of shoulder rubs for those baby heavy arms.
adorations - your babies are gorgeous and divine as well
tips/ assvice - buy a sling to get your hands back. See comments on previous post.

Sorry for the very late response.
1. What do we have in common? Infertility? Motherhood - I am a generation ahead of you and half a world away, with teenage children, but motherhood is forever.
2. How did you find me?
By Googling a patchwork/fabric shop in Melbourne Australia, which somehow led to www.loobylu.com.au, which led to www.alittlepregnant.com, which led to getupgrrl and dooce, all of which led to YOU!
The writing, the honesty and the openness have me hooked.
3. Do you comment?
No - scared I guess, also because I have not had to grapple with the agonising issues that you have faced, so don't feel I have that much to offer.
4. What aspects of my blog (if any) do you enjoy?
The honesty, the sharing, the respect.
5. What do you wish our conversations were more about?
Day to day life Life in SA.
6. What do you wish I would shut up about?
Nothing.
7. I am fascinated by all the different places we are from. Where are you from?
I am from Melbourne Australia (the bottom right hand corner of Australia).
8. Lastly, any tips, suggestions, adorations or pieces of assvice?
No assvice - I appreciate your sharing your life with all of us unknowns in the computer.

Hi Tertia! I wasn’t going to respond but you said something about how having things to read keeps you from defenestrating the babies, so in their interest, here goes .
1. What do we have in common? Infertility? Motherhood? Being gorgeous and divine? All of the above?
Infertility. Coming up on 5 years since we started trying, except for about 18 months in the middle, when I was doing my dissertation and getting settled in at my first academic job. Have had all the tests. Dr. found a little endo on the lap but clearing that out didn’t make a difference, so our IF remains unexplained.
2. How did you find me?
I’m pretty sure it was through Grrl, who I found through Barely Tenured, which I read about in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
3. Do you comment? If yes, thanks! If no, how come you don’t?
I comment sometimes – not much to add usually though since I have no experience with any ART or motherhood. Who am I to give assvice?
4. What aspects of my blog (if any) do you enjoy?
I like your frankness about how crap IF is. I also enjoy hearing the little South African-isms in your writing – I’m a big geek about dialects and foreign accents and am just delighted when I hear a new way of saying things – like using “crap” as an adjective :).
5. What do you wish our conversations were more about?
6. What do you wish I would shut up about?
(Answer to both 5 and 6) Who am I to say? It’s your blog; write about whatever you want! Telling you what to talk about feels like seeing a singer-songwriter in a small club and requesting a Bob Dylan song. If I don’t feel like reading, I don’t.
7. I am fascinated by all the different places we are from. Where are you from?
I grew up in New Jersey (the Philadelphia part, not the New York part) and now live in northeastern Kansas.
8. Lastly, any tips, suggestions, adorations or pieces of assvice?
You are divine and your babies are adorable!

Now *why* is it so hard for me to say I am gorgeous and divine? I mean, I expect respect from others, I don't let people walk all over me (most of the time), I think I'm kinda cute... Who knows why I have so much trouble admitting it. Okay, here goes...
I am gorgeous and divine, I am gorgeous and divine, I am gorgeous and divine. (repeat until I believe it!) ;)

is this post about sending cheap sms using the sms to email thing? Must admit I'm a bit confused... but no matter I found a cool one that works from your phone - http://www.free082sms.co.za - not sure how long it's still going to last though, Vodacom seems to be tightening up their logins for the vodacom4me website...
