Monday
am: Kate tonsils out
Monday
pm: Me puking
lungs out
Tuesday
all day: Me on death bed, Kate and Adam on top of me,
Marko at work
Wednesday
all day: Kate ok,
me puke and poop free but missing my voice. Marko leaves on a business trip.
Thursday: Kate ok. Me sore throat and
still not 100%. Adam pukes several times
in Woollies car park and all over my pants and shoes. Marko still away.
Thursday
night: Marko arrives back home. Adam wakes at 1am and 2am not feeling well.
One of his parents gets up to give him medicine etc. The other one can be heard
snoring under the covers. Kate wakes up
at 4am with a raging temperature. The same parent gets up again to strip her
down, give her medicine and wait for temp to subside. Snoring continues from
other parent. After much musical beds, the parent who is still wondering around
in her gown at 5am manages to sleep for an hour in Kate’s bed.
Friday
morning: Kate wakes up at 6am feeling a bit better,
wants to watch TV. Marko goes to work. Adam wakes up at 8 am and pukes again.
Current
status: Adam seems to have recovered,
but Kate is very lethargic. Bit worrying actually. About to call doctor and get advice. Hate it when my kids are sick, so worrying.
I am
SOOOOO sick of sick kids, sick me and being stuck inside! I HATE WINTER.

OH, I hear you buddy - loud and clear. We had this last week. I must admit, I cannot believe how bad the gasto bug is that is doing its rounds, as well as this dreadful cold/flu - call it what you will, has been.
Really hope that this weekend brings some respite to it all.

I think you need to get Marko up to help you until the kids are well.
Maybe he'll get his comeuppance, and he'll come down with the flu!
Hang in there!

Oy. Just oy. Hope Kate is better soon, and Marco can take over for the weekend, so you can recuperate in bed with laptop and endless supply of coffee and/or wine. But no flu for Marco-- in my experience sick husbands only make for more work for tired wives.

I can completely sympathize, having had two in the ER at the same time (for different things) in the middle of the night this week. DH made a play to leave, but I hit him with a direct shot of laser beams from my eyes and he stayed*. At least it's summer here -- you can escape to my house in sunny, hot Chicago if you'd like. The guest room is far enough away from ours that you shouldn't be able to hear MY DH's snoring!
*Before we had kids, DH once left ME in the ER in the middle of the night because he got tired, poor dear, while I awaited diagnosis on excrutiating abdominal pain. Because I was all alone, when an incompetent orderly left me in a hallway outside radiology to wait for an ultrasound, and no actual radiologist ever showed up to claim me, I just had to lie there and hope someone happened by. I started sort of whimpering, "Hello? Is anyone there?" until another orderly, himself no doubt having just abandoned a patient in another part of the hospital, came to my aid.

Ugh.. poor you! This is why women live longer than men, we're just tougher. Bless your heart.

Aaaack! Reminds me of The Night Of Laundry. Picture THREE kids, two of them puking in stereo while the third tags out a sibling here and there so that everyone gets to both puke AND cling to the mother's ankles as she shuffles puke-laden sheets and towels and pajamas into the washing machine, children in and out of the shower, etc. I washed one set of sheets for the third time around dawn and have never been more certain in my life that I could die and be perfectly fine with that. So sorry to hear it's over there, but I'm REALLY GLAD it's not currently over HERE!

Recently we had something similar. Patrick, 5.5, was vomiting, and nicely came into our room to do it. He was sick constantly for hours, and is not good about the toilet. Then As he drifted off at like 3am, Connor, 2.5, woke up screaming. In his crib he had thrown up and exploded his diaper on both sides. I changed the crib set, the baby and tried to comfort him. Patrick then walked in and threw up on both of us. Round 2 in the showers and sheets. This continued all day, while dh slept and went to work. When he got home at almost 9 that night he remarked first that he was hungry...had I eaten? Umm, no, too busy dealing with puke and sh*t. He then asked me if I was going to take a shower, as I looked "rough." Then as I was trying to decide whether to run him over with his new car, or simply strangle him, he absently asked if I had washed his running clothes as he had a race tomorrow. In that moment I briefly imagined wearing a red dress to his funeral, flirting at the funeral, my date the night of the funeral...then I merely snorted and collapsed in a heap. Horrifically, dh got sick with it 2 days later. It is still too painful to talk about. Hope Marco stays healthy and you can get some alone time over the weekend!
