I wrote
yesterday that I was a bit worried about Kate, she wasn’t herself, even taking
into account the fact that she had just had an operation. Last night she had a raging fever and this
morning I took her to casualty. She has
a post operative infection in the tonsil area. The doctor said ‘just as well you brought her in’. I told him I knew something wasn’t
right. He has given her new antibiotics
and hopefully we will see a difference in 48 hours. Only another 48 hours on top of the WHOLE
FUCKING WEEK. I want to cry. I am so tired, so depleted. It feels like this whole week of so called
recovery has been a waste.
And then
to top it all, I decide to take the kids and the dogs for a walk so that they
can get out the house and Marko can watch his Formula 1 qualifying in peace,
and firstly Adam rides his bike flat out into my leg, scraping all the skin off
the inside of my leg and just about breaking my ankle (and then makes ME apologize to HIM for upsetting him when I cried out in pain) and two seconds later,
Bruno knocks Kate over in his excitement and she goes face first into the tar,
bloody lip and all.
I scooped everyone up, marched inside, shouted at Marko to get up and poured myself a glass of wine. Please can this week just end already!

Girl, you've got it BAD. Wine is necessary. Totally medicinal at this point. Here's hoping everyone sleeps and has a MUCH BETTER DAY tomorrow!

After you are done with this glass, please pour yourself another. I think Formula 1 clearly goes onto the back burner today.
Hope Kate improves faster than 48, and that this is the end of the crazy week at your house.

Gaaah. That's horrid. I had a similar weekend last week, minus the post-operative infection, of course. S was away and I attempted to take the kids out to the beach. Ended with me carrying Jonah under my arm like a sack of potatoes while he had the (second in one day) mother of all tantrums. Motherhood SUCKS sometimes.

Can you get anybody(Marco/Rose/your sister)to help your kids tonight?
It sounds like you need a long bath and early bed with a good book before hours of sleep!
It would take 24 hours alone to get to CT, so I'd be a little late for the bedtime help, sorry!
Please ask for help. Sleep tight , I hope!

Do you have TiVo or another DVR device? Or a VCR? Marko can record his sports and get off his ass and tend to his kids. You have had a hellacious week and given the whole postop/sick/everyone else sick combo you've had, (a) you deserve a break, and (b) you can hardly even get a break because the kids are a two-person job right now. Let Marko do the heavy lifting before it's Monday again and he escapes back to the office.

Uuuuugh! Sounds like a lot of weeks I've had, and I can't even drink on all of my meds. At least I have Xanax, sweet, sweet, Xanax, or I think I might've seriously harmed my husand a few days ago...

De-lurking to say what an awful week. You deserve another glass of wine (or 2) at least. Hope Kate is on the mend by now.

Sounds like you've had a bit of a week. I hope Kate gets better soon and you can go back to enjoying the fun parts of having the kids around.
