Speaking of which, surgery
is only scheduled for 11:30am tomorrow morning (TOMORROW morning, EEK!!) which
means I can’t eat until the afternoon. Now, I do NOT do well when I don’t eat. I am mildly hypoglycemic* (the whole PCOS / IR thing) which means if I don’t
eat I get ratty, headachey, nauseous and feel shaky. And anxious. Niiiiiiice. I usually make sure my surgery is always
scheduled for early but some ‘ho snuck in before me with lipo. Apparently I can eat from 4am. I am serious
considering getting up to have a small snack, just to keep me going.
Well, that’s it
really. Surgery set for tomorrow. I am
very nervous but also quite excited. I’ll
try and update as soon as I can after the surgery. In fact, I’ll ask Sister Mel
to post a note to say how it all went. Wish me luck!
Don’t forget, my blog
is getting a facelift tomorrow as well. The new site goes life at 10am, hope you like it!
*I sound like a hypochondriac. I promise that besides the endometriosis, the polycystic ovarian syndrome, the associated insulin resistance, hypoglycemia and the GAD, I am perfectly healthy ;-)

YAY YAY!!! Good luck! Happy boob thoughts to you!!!
...and a big cookie :)

You MUST get up and have something light and have a good long drink of water too. If your surgery is pushed back (this happens ALL the time), you'll be much better off having done it.
Yay for new boobs!

You go girl! I had mine done 2 years ago and couldn't be happier with them.
Posted by: Gail | 23 August 2007 at 03:24 PM
of course, not eating is better than choking on your vomit because of the nausea the anesthesia causes.
i mean, unless you prefer to have this done without anesthesia.
just offering alternatives.
as you know i think this isn't necessary, but i *do* hope you are happy with the result.
Posted by: RainbowW | 23 August 2007 at 03:24 PM
Good luck! I will be thinking of you and praying all goes well!

Ditto to what RainbowW said.
I hate hate hate not having my breakfast in the morning. I get hangry if I don't eat, and even the work of getting dressed and getting out of the house becomes a frustrating and insurmountable challenge. Those people who routinely skip breakfast? I don't know how they do it. Which means, I guess, that if I ever need general anesthesia, they'd better give me lots of Valium to cope with the hunger in the preop time period.

PCOS always comes with a truckload of other side effects. Believe me, I understand.
Posted by: Andrea | 23 August 2007 at 05:56 PM
If you are feeling even the slightest bit hungry, weak, or shaky when you get to the hospital, let the nurses know immediately. They can go ahead and hook you up to an IV for a glucose drip, which avoids the problem of food in the stomach.
Best of luck with both the surgery and the healing!
Posted by: jeanette1ca | 23 August 2007 at 06:50 PM
I hope it goes well!
Weird: I think I had a dream in which you posted the before pictures. I thought itw as real until just now!

Holding thumbs for you!
Posted by: moo | 23 August 2007 at 11:17 PM
Good luck Tertia! I'm sure the new tits will be gorgeous & divine!
I've found that when they make me do something stupid like not eat prior to something that if I eat a decently big meal at midnight and then sleep almost until the procedure starts. Get someone else to do everything so you can just sleep until you have to leave. Go in your pajamas even.

Happy Boob-Day to You! That's magically tit-a-riffic!! I hope everything goes well and that you have a magnificent recovery.
Also, they ask you not to eat so that you don't end up with a life-threatening case of bacterial pneumonia when the food escapes your stomach while you are sleeping. This happens, so listen to your doctors, even if you feel they are just being clods. The glucose solution in the IV does work very well! I'm so happy that you are giving yourself such a cool treat and I will be thinking of you!!
Envy for the new hooters!

All the best Tertia! With the time difference between our countries you are no doubt either in surgery or out.
Fuck the negative people. Really. Take them with a grain of salt. You are an open and honest person; could THEY be so open and honest? I doubt it. Negative people are not happy with their lot so have to hurt others.
Looking forward to hearing your post surgery blogs and hoping recovery is swift (and you get lots of R&R in as a bonus ;)
