Another beautiful winters day here in Africa. We had just received our new backpacks in the mail from Aunty Nina and decided to pack a picnic and head down to the dam to catch some fish.
(Ok, not really. But we did have fun pretending)
The picnic
Looking for the best place to set things up
Waiting for the bite

It's so funny to see what you call winter. Have the kids ever even seen snow?

Beautiful pictures!
I am so goddamn jealous that you can let your kids get that close to water! It's obviously really shallow and I know they wouldn't drown or anything just because you were more than 5cm away. But *I* can't be more than 5cm away from my kids in a similar situation because they will hurl themselves into the water, splash it everywhere, rub mud into their eyebrows, and then rub mud all over me when I try to clean them up. I've been there done that on other occasions when my guard was down or I was just a fraction of a second too slow!
SO JEALOUS.
