    Thanks for this.

    70%??
    Seriously?

Thank you so much for sharing this email Tertia. What a phenominal success rate.

TWELVE THOUSAND dollars for a plane ticket?? Please tell me that's a typo, otherwise I think it's cheaper to cycle in the USA.

    Kendra~
I think she meant $12,000 for the entire trip depending upon the type of sightseeing, etc. you do while there.

    T.~
Sounds like a wonderful service that will help many women. Good that you are getting the word out.
(**BTW... BOTH Evan and Samantha are now sitting up by their cute selves.
    ;)
    Q. I can't figure out how Skype makes it's $$ ????

Wow what a kind thing to take the time out of your world to share with us. I will be sure to keep this info on file just incase I ever have someone that would like to know. And what a great reason to come and visit SA.

Just FYI - its about $1400 round trip per person
from the New York area - not sure where $12,000 came from - typo maybe or wrong currency?

Thanks so much for sharing this. I've got several friends who made the trip and are quite pleased. One has twins the other is due any day. Another friend is headed to Capetown in November. I'm thinking of coming myself early next year.

And it's about 12k for the whole trip: airline tickets, lodging, donor and agency fees, full cost of donor cycle including meds for the donors.

You can also work directly with the clinic and it will be about 4,500 less because of the donor agency fees. They don't have as many donors as Renew but it's an option.

Just another plug from an American who has gone to Cape Town for IVF: it is a great idea, especially for those doing donor egg cycles. The cost is so much more reasonable than in the US, and donors are readily available.

Cape Town is gorgeous, and if you are really lucky, you may just get to meet the gorgeous & divine Tertia like I did.
Tertia, I hope this post inspires others to look into this.

    Hi Everyone,

I am Robin, founder of the South African Egg Donor Program, Renew.

To clarify a few questions: YES, the price averages $12,000. for everything (not just flights)! Donor, procedure, meds, accomodation, flights, Renew etc... you can do it for more or less depending upon where you fly from, your choice of accomodation etc. I bought a ticket from the USA last month for $1100.

First time egg donation IS 70% successful for RENEW COUPLES AND DONORS:
Here are Dr Paul le Rouxs (Cape Fertility Clinic) words to me last December. They confirm our findings of his success. This statement clarifys why
    the CFC website states 60%.

"I recently presented an audit of egg donation in our unit at the University of Cape Town. This was an audit from the 1 January till the 30 October 2004 and included 91 cycles. This included all egg donation cycles in our unit (renew and others). The pregnancy rate per embryo transfer was 56% and the clinical pregnancy rate was 53% (ongoing pregnancy with a fetal heart).64% of all recipients who had treatment are pregnant.

I also did a subgroup analyses of the renew patients and found that 70% of them were pregnant. I think that the background support and excellent organisation which you provide to the donors and recipients is responsible for the increased pregnancy rate in the renew group. Well done!!!!"

Renew arranged 35 of the 91 cycles at that time

The Agency is to expensive. If you book all by your own you can save a huge amount and you have the same success rate if you choose the donor direct from the clinic.
Karin is an absolue nice women and works hard for the patients.

I am 43yrs with secondary infertility.I am a nigerian .i live here in nigeria

$12,000.00 for a total package sounds nice. My husband and I paid $20,000.00 last year, for a single cycle, here in the US. And all we got for our money, was a loan payment. The donor eggs turned out to be of very poor quality.

Another plug for the South African egg donation program. Cape Town is a fantastic city and the perfect place for an IVF Safari type of holiday.

46+ years, black origin, infertile, husband fertile. i require egg donation

I wish to know if you have surrogacy services too and how much is the total package

i would like to become an egg donor, but i would like to swop an egg or two or three or however many it takes to have ivf paid for in return for myself i would like to have another baby but i do not have the money to do so. please let me know if this would be possible...

    Kind Regards

    Hayles
