A blog reader found this for me. A star named after ME!
I think they made a spelling mistake, they meant to call it Gorgeous Tertia. Poor things, how embarrasing for them.
Gorgonea (Gorgeous) Tertia shines with a flickering red light: it is a giant star that appears to be unstable, and varies considerably and unpredictably in magnitude.
A bit worried about the description - what do they mean 'unstable'. Although I must agree with the 'varies considerably in magnitude' - but I am trying to be good on my diet, promise!

Ah, the "unstable" bit merely means that the star is definitely FEMALE! I think it's a reference to hormonal swings. ;-)
Maybe "Gorgonea" is some newfangled term that combines "gorgeous" with "devine?" Perhaps you should start using it instead of G&D. LOL

LMAO Korin!!
Star: A self-luminous celestial body consisting of a mass of gas held together by its own gravity in which the energy generated by nuclear reactions in the interior is balanced by the outflow of energy to the surface, and the inward-directed gravitational forces are balanced by the outward-directed gas and radiation pressures.
Yup, that's Tertia.

Hmmm, yes, but did you read further about these names?
"The 'Demon' Star of Algol has three attendants in the heavens: Gorgonea Secunda, Gorgonea Tertia and Gorgonea Quarta. Their names refer to the severed head of the gorgon Medusa, which Perseus holds in his hand. In fact the three gorgons are unrelated to Algol, and lie about three times further from the Earth than that star."
Not sure I'd want to be part of the gorgon Medusa's severed head myself. She's the nasty one who had snakes for hair, and killed people just by looking at them. Though I guess that could be a useful talent! LOL
Cool website anyway - I enjoy astronomy.
