I have to tell you about doing IVF in SA. A few of you asked how could I afford to do six IVF’s and still claim I have to work.
BTW – I have no medical insurance cover for any IF related stuff. It is all out of pocket.
Well, firstly, I earn a very good salary. Secondly, IVF is relatively cheap here. I could save up for an IVF every three months. Just as bloody well seeing I ended up doing so many of the damn things.
Medical care is excellent here in SA and Dr’s here are rated very highly. Ask around and you will find out. We have some of the best medical care in the world.
In fact, those of you thinking of doing IVF should come here to SA to do your cycles here. You could come on an IVF Safari. Do a cycle, see the wild animals (in my backyard), experience Africa and get to visit the G&D Tertia. Come in summer and you could sun yourself on the G&D beaches, do a wine tasting tour, see the whales etc.
PLUS – you will get treated by the V handsome Dr H. My favourite Dr in the whole world. Or one of his equally handsome partners.
A standard IVF cycle will cost you about $3000, and that includes all meds and ICSI (I think). If ICSI is not included, then it is only a few hundred dollars. That’s a Gonal F cycle.
A DE cycle will cost you about $4600, including the donor’s fee!
Advanced laprascopy $300
They also offer PGD etc etc.
The clinic has accommodation near them that is really cheap.
You are probably thinking how the hell can it be so cheap, it must be crap. It is not crap, they are excellent, and the reason why it is so cheap is because of the exchange rate. Why did it take me six IVF’s to get the babes? I was pg on four of the six IVF’s, I just kept losing them due to other factors. Not the clinic’s fault.
Visit the clinic's website.
Mention that you are a friend of the G&D Tertia. Perhaps you will get an extra egg or two.
